  • WiSys Informational Seminar. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will host an informational workshop on the WiSys Technology Foundation.Since its inception in 2000, WiSys, an affiliate of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF),has been working with the eleven UW System comprehensive campuses to facilitate cutting-edge research programs, protect and generate patentable discoveries, and foster the career development and scholarship required for today’s knowledge-based economy. WiSys is forging campus-industry collaborations to develop next-generation technologies and products. The critical combination of developing interdisciplinary collaborations, providing needed resources and manpower, and accelerating technology transfer drives innovation and positions UW campuses and Wisconsin as leaders for generations to come.

  • UW System Game Development and Distance Learning Community Workshop.  Faculty from UW campuses and members of Wisconsin industry will come together to share current projects, discuss common issues and explore potential collaborations in the fun and exciting world of multimedia arts and game development. Hosted by WiSys Technology Foundation and UW-Whitewater.

  • 2nd Annual Wisconsin Science & Technology Symposium Poster Session. A poster session highlighting research occurring throughout Wisconsin will also be held. Poster space is limited. Posters selections will be based on how well the posters fit into the theme of the event (which is science and technology development). Interested applicants should submit a ½ page abstract including names of researchers, title of poster, and institution where research was conducted to Mike Cenci at mcenci@wisys.org.

  • January 2009 LEARN Center Workshop.  This workshop will explain and explore the array of services and funding opportunities available to faculty and staff through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. ORSP works with faculty and staff to provide assistance with research and scholarly activity. Goals of this workshop include: understand Office of Research and Sponsored Programs services, comprehend the diversity of the grant funding community, research and identify potential funding sources, create the right fit with the funding agency, and link grant seeking to research, teaching, and service.
