21 August 2009: The National Science Foundation (NSF) implements America COMPETES Act provision (Thompson Publications)-- Research institutions seeking National Science Foundation grant funding next year must develop a plan to provide appropriate training and oversight to ensure students and researchers follow "responsible and ethical conduct of research."

11 August 2009: The Office of Management and Budget has Issued an A-133 Compliance Supplement Addendum for ARRA programs (Thompson Publications)-- The Office of Management and Budget added numerous requirements for auditing American Recovery and Reinvestment Act programs in a recent addendum to the 2009 Circular A-133 Compliance Supplement. The addendum includes special tests and provisions for Recovery Act awards, along with guidance stressing the importance of internal controls over Recovery Act funds

20 July 2009: FederalReporting.gov to Open for Registration on August 17 2009 (Thompson Publications)-- Federal grant recipients and subrecipients receiving American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding can begin registering with FederalReporting.gov as of Aug. 17. Recipients and subrecipients who will be submitting information to FederalReporting.gov need to register with the site to submit data for the October quarterly reports, which will be due Oct. 10. The data submitted to FederalReporting.gov will then be reported to the public via Recovery.gov within 30 days.

26 May 2009: The Office of Management and Budget has Released the 2009 OMB Circular A-133 Compliance Supplement-- This supplement provides auditors with important guidance on how to review the performance of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding. The guidance states that the Recovery Act has "significant implications" for audits performed under OMB Circular A-133, and that "auditors should specifically ask auditees about and be alert to recipient and subrecipient expenditure of funds provided by the Recovery Act.".
